Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore has been an Hollywood author and actress for many years. Also, she is lauded by reviewers. She's a Sagittarius born on December 3, 1960 in North Carolina. She is oldest among three siblings, born to Peter Moore Smith who was the paratrooper. Her mother Anne works as a psychotherapist. She's English, Scottish and of mixed descent. Moore's father was a mover often due to his work. It was hard for her to find or maintain friendships. Moore was a student at Frankfurt American High School in Germany as her parents moved to the United States. She began performing in theatre. Her education continued at Boston University where she graduated in 1983 with B.F.A. thesis in Theater. Moore started her acting career off Broadway in New York, after she had graduated. Her first appearance was in an episode of The Edge of Night, which was telecast on the network in 1985. It was in 1986 that she made her breakthrough when she played the roles as Sabrina Hughes as well as Frannie Hughes in As the World Turns. This show lasted until 1988 and won the Daytime Emmy Award. In 1990, she made her cinematic debut in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie that she later described as a terrible low-budget film. Short Cuts, both produced by Robert Altman (1993), as well as 3 Women, also productions by Altman (1997) included among her films. The former was critically acclaimed and Moore was nominated for several awards for it. Moore played her first big role in Safe which was a film from 1995. Steven Spielberg, who was director of Jurassic Park: The Lost World in 1997, and one of that year's biggest grossing movies, cast Moore as the main actor. In 1999, she won the SAG Award for her performance in Magnolia. The Hours, a 2002 film in which she co-starred with Nicole Kidman and Meryl Strreep was nominated for 9 Academy Awards. Moore also appeared in The Forgotten (2003), Freedomland (2005), Shelter (2010) and many other films. Non-Stop the film in which that she starred in, was released. Moore was a regular on many TV and film series. Moore has appeared in a number of films and television programs. She was most recently seen in In When You Finish Save the World 2022. She has established her career in Hollywood as well as being a successful children's book author. She released her first book in 2007 Freckleface Strawberry and quickly became an N.Y.T. best-seller, leading to it being adapted into a series and a musical. Also in 2013, Moore published My Mother is a Stranger. Moore being a popular author and performer she has also made her private life public. Moore married John Robin back in 1984, and the couple divorced in 1996. Bart Freundlich has given her two kids. Moore later got married to him in 2003. Moore's entire life revolves around colleagues, friends and family.
